Module 3 .. The last hurdle!

WELCOME TO MODULE 3!


My life has changed considerably since module 1 and 2 and I am back to somewhat normality and am currently working as a Dance Captain on Royal Caribbeans Freedom of the Sea’s again! I love my job but it comes with some added stresses so I am going to have to be extremely organised with my time and how I am handling my work / uni / downtime balance! But don’t get me wrong I am absolute ecstatic to be back on the stage performing!


But this will be a challenge so lets go!



To any module 1s and a reminder to other modules I am part of the student voice programme with Chloe (mod 3) and Logan (mod 2) so please contact us if you have anything that you wish us to voice :)

Module 3 does feel quite intimidating. I must admit I have tried to read the handbook multiple times over the summer to try and prepare myself for what is to come. It feels crazy that all our work and planning we are actually going to put into action! 


I feels quite daunting at the thought of actually having to interview people and complete my research project. But saying that I am so excited and can’t wait to discover what people are going to say!


Also in 12 weeks (hopefully) we will see the light at the end of the tunnel for module 3 and this course! It has honestly flown by!

    Cute blog Emily. Yes i think we all felt intimidated on the other two modules and we got through them hey! So i have no doubt we can step up to this. It just seems a lot at the moment. Im nervous to actually organise and do the interviews, but it will be interesting what other peoples opinions are on our subjects.
    Take care of yourself and make sure you enjoy you contract and get some downtime, and not just worry about UNI work x we are all in this together. x

      Yes I am sooooo intrigued to know what the participants will say on my topic too and see how they vary to my opinions! Also to try and be completely unbiased too will be hard!
      Ohhh I will! I am just going to have to get really organised! and pray the internet will hold out!

    So exciting that you're back on stage Emily but can imagine the added stress it brings to the start of Module 3. No doubt you'll be super organised and do amazingly well. I just want to get going now so I can get my head in the right 'space' for the module. Pretty sure these 12 weeks will fly by and we'll be at the end of the course before we know it! (hopefully!). Goodluck x

      I am certain the 12 weeks will fly by for sure, especially with the deadline looming! It was lovely to see you in the welcome back zoom today! I am glad I was able to hear the discussion!
      But yes extremely grateful to be performing again!! :)

    Congrats on your contract onboard! Good luck for Module 3, I am about to begin Module 2, I am definitely going to take a look at your blog mentioned with tips for Module 2 students!

      Thanks Ellie!! Yes please take a look!! I found the start of module 2 a little overwhelming but once I pin pointed my theme it all makes more sense! Good luck!

Draft deadline approaching

This module have been overwhelming to say the least! I now realise how fortunate I was to start this course in the pandemic and have so much free time to focus on my work. This time round I am abroad in America, working a full time job, I have very limited wifi, I am also Injured and have had so many different distractions! Welcome back! Welcome to Module 2!

I am excited to get my head stuck into some books again and continue this journey! A lot has happened in my life recently and I am now living in Brasil until May, so I will be doing this whole module here! I need to be extra organised and get my head around the time zones for all our BAPP skypes. So far from talking to peers on the course and looking over the handbook I feel like I am back at the beginning and it all feels so daunting again! I felt like this at the start of module 1 and we all managed to get through that… so I am sure we will conquer this too! Tonights welcome back Skype I felt was a great way to get my head back into ‘uni-mode’ and it was lovely to see everyone again and of course welcome the module 1s onto the course.  Helen made some great points about just delving into the course and yourself as an artist. This blog is split into three categories, firstly the Writing lecture with Peter Thomas, secondly a MDX Referencing workshop and thirdly Student voice leader.  Writing Lecture with Peter Thomas  -If anyone missed the lecture It has been recorded and will be accessible on uni hub which is great! Academic Writing and Analytic Writing  I am going to highlight the main points I took away from todays lecture, but I highly recommend that you watch and listen for yourself! When finding literature and reading sources of academic writing it can sometimes be over whelming and confusing. The best way Is to first just engage with the text, give yourself some time to just look through it and then pick up and make a notes on what your understood or took away from the information.
