Deadline!

Wow, I can’t believe that I can finally say, I have submitted my Essay and Artefact into ‘Turn it in’ on Uni Hub! I feel a huge sense of relief and I feel so proud that I have managed to get all my work finished before the deadline… now for the long wait to get the results in February!

Congratulations to the rest of the modules and to the fellow module ones; we are 1/3 of the way there!

Reflecting on the past 12 weeks, I can honestly say its flown by! I am glad that I have been able to keep up my blogs and I think I managed my time well… although the second lockdown was rather helpful for amending my essay after the feedback and creating my artefact (Grateful for that silver lining)

I am looking forward to starting module 2, it will be interesting as the first few weeks I will be working from Brasil!

A few things I have found really helpful during this module was using my blogs to present my research and ideas; I found it so handy to have it all at my finger tips when I started to piece my essay together.

I found spider diagrams a great way to get my thoughts flowing and down on paper.

I also found myself using the ‘free writing technique’ a lot when trying to start my essay.

I believe I have started to trust the process now and I understand that everything isn’t right or wrong or black and white! There will be ‘light bulb moments’ and moments when you want to pull your hair out, but it’s all part of the journey!

  1. Well done Emily!! So proud of everyone for getting through the module! I think you're so right about sometimes you have lightbulb moments and sometimes you want to want to pull your hair out - but all part of the journey as you say! I think we've definitely had to give into trusting the process and it has got us to the point of actually handing work in which is amazing.
Can't believe you'll be in Brasil starting module 2! A bit jealous hehe.
Congrats on completing module 1! x

Interviews! Interviews! Interviews!

Interviews? Yesterday module 2 had a really insightful discussion session with supervisor Sam Murray who specialises in ethnographic research. Below are some of the key points that Sam raised in the discussion for anyone that missed it! Also this will be helpful to revisit and reflect on when we are in module 3 and actually have to create our interview questions!!! (dun dun duuuuuunnnn!!!!!!!- This scares me haha) Sams Interview Hints and Tips -In an interview think of being a data collection computer, you want to take in lots of information and learn new things! -Don’t ask leading questions and don’t have a fixed idea. You want to be open and use broad questions to get as much out of the discussion. Don’t force your opinion. -Let the data speak for its self  -In an interview you will always be surprised by peoples answers, so don’t presume what they are going to say. -You are collecting peoples stories -Create a set of questions that are open and that you feel confident asking! -W...

Colour Psychology

Well done on everyone getting their essay drafts done! What a relief! I am looking forward to getting my feedback so I can get stuck in and amend what needs to be changed and get this module ticked off!  ...  Colour evokes feeling.  Colour incites emotion. AM BAPP Twillight Nov 25th Skype - Summerising

Summerising ‘Summarising is defined as taking a lot of information and creating a condensed version that covers the main points.’ Yourdictionary.com. 2020. SUMMARIZING | 2 Definitions Of Summarizing - Yourdictionary . [online] Available at: <https://www.yourdictionary.com/summarizing> [Accessed 26 November 2020]. Todays Skype was about summarising what we are working on at the moment. For module 1, this is our essay and our artefact reflecting on our practise. I must admit, I listened to a lot of this session and I found it particulary interesting to listen to the module 3 students talking about their final projects and artefacts! Adesola explained that the artefact is just a different way of communicating and expressing what we have written in our essays. She explained that you should be able to look at someones essay and their artefact and know that they are linked and are reflection of each other. Obviously I have been busy making my artefact and I feel like the more time I sp...
